The Brisbane recruitment market is a bit of a rollercoaster right now. On one hand, highly skilled candidates are being snapped up quickly, often juggling multiple interviews at once. On the other, some employers are slowing things down between interview stages and in this market, that pause can mean losing great people to faster movers.
Paid media, once thought to be cooling off, is back in demand with businesses reigniting their investment in performance-driven channels. Interestingly, while AI continues to dominate headlines, we’re not seeing it reshape core marketing skill set requirements… at least not yet.
What is driving candidates? Unsurprisingly, salary still tops the list. But hot on its heels are opportunities for genuine skill development and workplaces with a positive, supportive culture.
We still feel that the market remains uneven. Some employers are making cuts, while others are busy creating brand-new roles. Through it all, one thing is clear though, our strongest placements (90% in fact) continue to come from known candidates already in our network. And often, when someone misses out on securing a role, it’s not about their capability, it’s simply that the competition is just as strong.
